Here are a few things I want you to do in preparation for this momentous day:

1) Make sure you’re mentally prepared for the day. This is your day of breakthrough. NO more excuses, rationalizations, reasons or arguments. STOP IT! (a la Writer’s Conference July 2016)     Decide that this is the day you lay it all down and this is the day you claim your victory! Trust me, you’ll get what you need to know in the short time we have about Public Speaking, but there is so, so, so, SOOO much more!!!!

2) Make sure you will be prepared for a full day – wear comfortable clothes. Bring layers of clothing. Bring food (healthy food and snacks so you can stay awake and alert), and lots of water bottles  and of course, your notebook etc.

3) Here are a few main questions in RED that I want you to have answered for the workshop. Underneath each main question (in red), are sub questions. Please ensure your answer to the main question (in red) has addressed each of the sub questions. Make sense?

a) What is your name?

Do you know the meaning of your name?

If not, please find out the meaning/history of your name.

Who gave you your name?

Do you know why you were given that name?

Do you like your name? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Do you have a middle name?

If so, what is it? Do you know the meaning of that name?

Do you like that name? If so, why? If not, why not?

Is there anything else you want to add?

b) What was the best gift you ever gave to someone?

Was it a surprise?

Who was it given to?

What was the occasion?

How long ago was that?

What did it cost (roughly)? Was it expensive? Was it more a function of time and meaning? Or was it both costly and took great time/effort to do?

What was involved in the giving of it? Explain in detail.

Why do you think this was this the best gift you ever gave?

Is there anything else you want to add?
